Atalie Rutherford, MD

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, I am drawn to family medicine because it allows me to connect with all types of people in different stages of their life. With my training in integrative medicine, I focus not solely on their current illness, but on their entire body and mind. I am excited to work at Happy Doc because this model promotes what I see as the pillars of primary care: education, collaboration, and connection.

When I am teaching, I am content. Whether it is training new doctors in a hospital setting or explaining a treatment to you, I strive to keep a patient’s big picture in mind. When you visit me, we’ll learn together how your daily actions impact your health, and vice versa.

Specific areas of medicine that I am passionate about include women's health and medically complex patients. I am a firm advocate and provider of LGBTQ-affirming care. Creating a welcoming place for every person is a core aspect of my practice style.

Outside of clinic, my partner and I love spoiling our dog in Oregon’s natural beauty.

When I’m not gardening, traveling, learning new languages, or lost in a book, you might find me playing video games or D&D. Whether I am sorting through a dozen medications to find the cause of dizziness or realizing the answer was to cast Detect Magic before touching anything, I enjoy a good puzzle.
